NORTH OF DONNA - A woman gave up her purse and cell phone after she told deputies she was robbed at gunpoint early this morning.

The alleged aggravated robbery happened at about 12:55 a.m. near the intersection of Golie and Mile 11 1/2 North roads.

The woman told deputies she took a ride home from "a couple of people" when one of them pointed a gun at her, demanding the woman's purse and belongings, said Supervisor Eddie Rodriguez of the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office.

No suspect information was immediately available.
