Afraid of tea party
To the Editor:
Kathleen Parker hates the tea party — or maybe she is just afraid of it. She is joined by other liberal media people such as Bob Schieffer, Chris Matthews and David Brooks. These "journalists" freely use insults and lies to undermine the activities of the tea party. One such writer even accused the tea party representatives in Congress of wearing suicide vests!
As any tea party member will tell you, the goal of the organization is to bring the country back to the Constitution that is the guiding light of our country. Liberals have chipped away at the original document so much that the Founding Fathers would not recognize it today.
Parker and her cronies like to think tea partyers are stupid and that will be her downfall. She even stooped so low as to check the personal financial records of some of the leaders.
She doesn’t seem to understand that we are ordinary citizens who are concerned about the way our country has changed and we want to see some accountability from Congress.
So yes, we supported candidates who promised to do that. And, yes, if they do not, they will lose our support.
I know she thinks it is "sheer fantasy" for us to think we can find candidates who will vote along with us, but we have. That is why Kathleen Parker is so afraid. And we will not give up.
This drive to take our country back has only just begun. It took years to lose our freedoms and we are prepared to spend years to get it back if necessary.
Parker says, "Take names, remember them," and I can assure her we will do just that!
Parker thinks the actions of the tea party have greatly increased Obama’s chances of re-election. I do not agree. In fact, he is frantically campaigning with every speech he gives.
Even though she speaks of the tea party in the past tense and said the party had become "toxic and it was time for it to go," this is not going to happen. So, dream on, Kathleen, we will keep fighting until we achieve our goal.
