HARLINGEN — Police are looking for the men involved in the stabbing of a 20-year-old man at a neighborhood park.
The assault happened shortly before 9:30 p.m. Monday at Arroyo Park at 1110 New Hampshire St., on the city’s south side.
Police found the victim conscious but suffering from multiple wounds to his back and shoulder area.
He was taken to the hospital by EMS.
Police did not release the name of the victim yesterday afternoon and did not have an update on his condition.
Police have an ongoing investigation into the incident and are looking into the whereabouts of the people involved in the stabbing.
Police said the male suspects fled the area on foot before police arrived.
One of the suspects was reportedly wearing a red shirt. Another subject may have had gold-colored dentures or teeth.
Witnesses reported the victim had been involved in a fight with multiple male subjects in the middle of the street in front of the park.
Police said the crime appears to be an isolated incident, but residents in the nearby neighborhoods are urged to call the Harlingen Police Department if they hear or see anything suspicious.
