It’s about community: Man receives gift of new home through Habitat for Humanity

HARLINGEN — There’s no place like home.

George Lawson’s new one on Taylor Street is a shade under 1,000 square feet, with two bedrooms and two baths.

Yet for him, the real treat yesterday was acknowledging the Habitat for Humanity volunteers and partners who contributed time, money and sweat to building what he now calls his home.
