Local man receives 20 years for child porn

HARLINGEN — Kevin Michael Kaster, a local citizen has been sentenced to 240 month’s in prison.

The announcement came from the HSI Harlingen and HSI Brownsville special agents who where assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Child Exploitation Investigations Task Force.

Kaster was sentenced for production, possession and distribution of child pornography.

The RGV CEITF initially arrested Kaster for the possession of child pornography, according to information from ICE.

However, forensic analysis revealed Kaster also was producing child pornography and sexually assaulting a child in the home.

“The heavy sentence imposed on Kaster sends a clear message that there are serious consequences for those who exploit children,” said Special Agent in Charge, Shane Folden, HSI San Antonio. “Targeting crimes of this nature is a high priority for HSI. We will continue to dedicate HSI resources nationwide to prevent exploitation, prosecute perpetrators, and protect our children.”
