BROWNSVILLE — Brownsville police yesterday continued to investigate a stabbing at a local restaurant that left one man injured.
The stabbing happened about 4:11 p.m. Saturday at Emilia’s Restaurant, 6105 Padre Island Hwy.
Police spokesman J.J. Treviño said the incident involved two men getting into a dispute.
“(The victim) received several lacerations to his abdomen and one to his back, none of which were life threatening,” Treviño said.
Treviño said the 24-year-old victim knew the 28-year-old suspect and both were customers that day at the restaurant. Police have not found a motive yet to the stabbing.
“It looks to be a family violence type of case,” Treviño said.
Police are still looking for the suspect. As of now, there are no leads to his location, authorities said.
