The Rio Grande Valley continues to play host to members of Congress intent on learning about the border security and economic situation as U.S. Sen. John Cornyn hosts five members of Congress on a tour Monday.

The border tour involving Cornyn comes one day after U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Missouri, visited refugees at the Humanitarian Respite Center at Sacred Heart in McAllen.

Also, U.S. Sen, Ted Cruz, R-Texas, took his own Valley tour late Friday and Saturday.

Several members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus were also in the Valley on Monday, holding a roundtable discussion about border issues.

All of these tours come in anticipation of the scheduled tour Wednesday by U.S. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.
