HARLINGEN —The potential for dangerous rip currents is in the forecast again today for beaches on South Padre Island and Boca Chica State Park.
A gulf swell of two to four feet combined with higher than normal tides will produce a moderate rip current risk until 1 p.m. today.
With spring break in full swing, forecasters caution beach-goers to use caution when near the water.
Forecasters say dangerous swimming conditions on gulf beaches are likely, especially near the jetty.
With warmer temperatures and sunshine in the forecast today, the weather service notes conditions are likely to draw more people to the beach and into the water.
