PHARR — A Pharr teenager died Sunday as a result of injuries suffered in an armed robbery a week earlier.

Pharr police announced the teen’s death in a news release Sunday, more than a week after he and another man, a 48-year-old Pharr resident, suffered gunshot wounds in a robbery at their residence.

Officers responded last Monday night to a residence in the 900 block of East Dreyer Street for a report of a robbery after three men rushed a residence demanding money and other valuables, according to a news release.

Police did not say what was taken from the residence.

During the robbery one of the suspects fired at the 48-year-old man and 16-year-old, striking them an unknown number of times, officials said. It is not known what relationship the man had to the teenager.

Police did not give a status for the 48-year-old man.

The suspects are described as one Hispanic man, about 6 feet tall, wearing blue body armor, black shirt and blue jeans; a second man wearing a green ski mask, and the third wearing a black ski mask, the release states.

The suspects fled east of the residence, and may have left in two different vehicles; a small red passenger car and a Ford Focus passenger car with a hatchback, a release states.

The Pharr police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects, anyone with information regarding the robbery may call Pharr Crime Stoppers at (956) 787-8477.
