Truck rollover on North Highway 281 delays traffic on busy holiday weekend

NORTH OF EDINBURG – About 3 p.m. Friday, two separate crashes occurred on northbound U.S. Highway 281, north of Farm-to-Market Road 490, causing travel delays as the Easter holiday weekend begins.

NORTH OF EDINBURG – About 3 p.m. Friday, two separate crashes occurred on northbound U.S. Highway 281, north of Farm-to-Market Road 490, causing travel delays as the Easter holiday weekend begins.

One tractor-trailer jack-knifed, while second tractor-trailer rolled over, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Both lanes on northbound U.S. 281, north of FM 490 are shut down until further notice. Traffic will be diverted east or west on FM 490 from U.S. 281.

According to the DPS spokesman, no injuries reported and the cause is under investigation.
