Annual event slated to raise funds for local 4-H Club

SANTA ROSA — Jaime y Los Chamacos are the headlining music act for the Clover Fest Cook-off.

“This year, the event is expected to bring together not only our community, but our neighboring cities,” said Jaime Quiroga, Santa Rosa alderman.

The Clover Fest Cookoff and community event is scheduled for next weekend.

“Three years ago, the city of Santa Rosa along with the Santa Rosa 4H Club got together and planned a free event for the entire community to enjoy,” Quiroga said.

The event is now an annual fundraiser for the 4H Club.

And the barbecuetasting competition makes it worth while. Everyone gets a chance to eat some good food and enjoy the event.

The event will include live entertainment, food, vendors, kid’s zone, a car show, a trail ride, and the BBQ cook-off. The original cook-off brought 13 teams, which then increased to nearly 40 teams the following year, making it an International Barbecue Cookers Association sanctioned event. Along with other local bands such as Regresso and Konjunto Kompas, and other Valley artists, organizers are expecting the biggest crowd Santa Rosa has ever seen.
