A woman accused of harboring six undocumented immigrants admitted to hiding people illegally trying to enter the U.S. since she was a teenager, according to a criminal complaint.

Cameron County constables arrested Alma Delia Leal, 45 or 46, on the 2000 block of South Dakota after conducting a knock-and-talk on a home they believed might be a stash house, court documents show.

Leal answered and allegedly gave authorities the consent to search the residence, according to a criminal complaint, which states that investigators discovered six undocumented immigrants hiding in the rear of the house.

While being interviewed, she told investigators that she had been harboring undocumented immigrants since she was 15-years-old for financial gain, court documents state.

Leal faces a federal charge of harboring undocumented immigrants, a felony. She’s being held without bond.
