Each October, in conjunction with the National Family Partnership’s annual Red Ribbon Week celebration, families and schools decorate their homes and campuses with red ribbons to promote living healthy and drug-free lifestyles. The 2017 national Red Ribbon Week theme is “Your Future Is Key, So Stay Drug Free.”
La Paloma Elementary has entered the National Family Partnership’s Red Ribbon Photo Contest, now in its seventh year. Created in an effort to prevent drug use and educate youth during Red Ribbon Week and beyond, the contest is co-sponsored by the National Family Partnership – a national leader in drug prevention, education and advocacy – and the US Drug Enforcement Administration.
La Paloma Elementary would like for the community to vote for their photo entry and help the school win a grand prize: $1,000 for their school’s drug prevention programs. In total, $20,000 will be awarded to 20 schools across the country.
Voting is easy! Simply visit https://redribbon.wishpond.com/photo-contest-school/ and decide which entry you feel best represents this year’s theme; enter “La Paloma” in the search box to quickly find our local students’ photo. The voting period ends on Nov. 17.
