DACA, DACA, DACA. Enough already.
The obsession with these dreamers has reached levels of absurdity in our country.
Why are these people being given so much attention? Why are they so special?
Politicians from both parties are tripping over themselves to give these people legal status as if they are the saviors of our nation.
Will our country fall apart if we don’t legalize them?
Of course not, America will survive. The dreamers are a tiny sliver of the population, less than one percent.
There are far more pressing issues at the moment.
The national debt is $20 trillion and growing and no one in either party, including the president, is talking about it. Are we going to just print and borrow money until the end of time?
A collapse is coming; it’s only a matter of time. I have nothing against the dreamers. They are in a tough spot and their parents are to blame for bringing them here illegally.
They acted in an irresponsible
manner and now their children are suffering the consequences.
Legal status for them makes sense and I support it if they are gainfully employed or going to school and doing well.
But I don’t think it’s a priority compared to other things.
I wonder if anyone in my government cares about my dreamers. I am referring to my three children. They are dreamers too and they were born here.
I also have relatives in Mexico who filed paperwork years ago to immigrate here and are still waiting. They deserve priority too since they followed the law.
