LA FERIA — The arrest of a La Feria man last week led to the recovery of a missing La Feria teen.
Ivan Villarreal, 18, of La Feria was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated sexual assault, a first-degree felony, indecency with a child, a second-degree felony, and abandoning or endangering a child, a second-degree felony.
According to DPS, at approximately 8:50 a.m. on Feb. 2 troopers conducted a one-vehicle crash investigation involving a Dodge Neon on I-69E, north of FM 508.
According to DPS, evidence was established that resulted in various charges against Villarreal, the driver of the vehicle.
Villarreal was transported and booked into the Cameron County Jail.
The Texas Department of Public Safety recovered the missing child after Highway Patrol troopers conducted the crash investigation in Cameron County.
During the investigation, the troopers discovered that a 13-year-old female passenger was a missing child from La Feria.
