If you’re looking for something to do during Spring Break, Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge could use your help.

If you’re looking for something to do during Spring Break, Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge could use your help.

The refuge says it needs volunteers to plant seedlings in order to create more thornscrub forest habitat.

You’re asked to bring your own work gloves, shovel, sturdy shoes or boots, water bottle, sunscreen and a hat. They’ll provide all the water refills you need.

The planting begins at 8 a.m. tomorrow and will continue on weekdays through March 28. You can volunteer for an hour or two, or spend the whole day at the refuge if you’d like.

The refuge is located east of Rio Hondo off of FM 106 and north of Laguna Vista. For more information call (956) 748-3607.
