Agents seize $1 million in marijuana

U.S. Border Patrol agents confiscated one million dollars worth of marijuana this weekend after spooting a Suburban driving without its lights on.

According to an agency news release, agents were patrolling near Fronton, in Starr County, on Saturday night when they spotted the SUV.

They found the vehicle abandoned near a road along the Rio Grande and saw several suspects jump into the river swimming towards Mexico.

Inside the Suburban agents discovered 137 bundles of marijuana that weighed more than 1,300 pounds and had a street value of $1 million dollars.
