Special to the Star

The San Benito CISD Migrant Education Program (MEP) recently held a fun-filled and educational game night for local migrant students. Over 40 elementary students in Pre-K through the fifth grade enjoyed a variety of board games, refreshments and door prizes.

Known to play a crucial role in children’s development and growth, board games help acquire logical and reasoning skills, boost critical thinking, and help with learning, social and communication skills.

Local MEP initiatives are aimed at helping migrant students succeed in school and successfully transition to postsecondary education or employment. For additional information, please contact Connie Cruz, Title I/Migrant Program Coordinator, at (956) 361-6311.
