Congratulations to the Junior League of Harlingen for organizing the Kid Fit and Fun Run event Feb. 9, 2019.
The event was originally scheduled for Lon C. Hill Park; however, due to weather conditions, was transferred to Harlingen High School South.
Art Cavazos and the Harlingen High School South administration are to be commended for “stepping up” and opening the school to the community. This event really worked out great to be held at Harlingen High School South.
The turnout was fantastic. Over 1,000 were in attendance including performers and volunteers.
Great performances by the high school bands, dance teams and others entertained throughout the morning.
Interactive health and fitness activities and demonstrations were presented to the parents and children.
It was a wonderful sight; the gym packed with many mascots, children and parents, all together exercising for health to music.
We indeed live in a united Harlingen community where we all work together for everyone’s good.
To the members of the Junior League of Harlingen, we appreciate all the great works that your organization provides.
Very well done.
