HARLINGEN — With a cup of coffee and an uplifting morning breakfast, Harlingen PD is looking to have the opportunity to come together as a community.
When looking for an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues and build relationships, a cup of coffee at Cracker Barrel was the option.
This is a national initiative supported by the United States Department of Justice and Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.
Similar events are held across the country, as local police departments strive to make lasting connections with the community they serve.
This is open to the public and all ages are welcome. The event aims to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships between police officers and community members one cup of coffee at a time.
