South Padre Island residents and tourists can stop boiling their water to drink or cook.

The Laguna Madre Water District says lab results are back from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality that indicate the water is safe to drink again.

On Tuesday, a utility crew struck a water main on the 700 block of Padre Boulevard that forced the LMWD to shut off water to the entire Island.
