HARLINGEN – A 28-year-old male suspect remains in custody and is expected to be arraigned today in connection to an early Sunday morning shooting that left a male victim dead at 24811 N. Bass Blvd.
According to authorities, the owner of the property heard gunshots outside his home in the dawn hours of Sunday and sent a worker to investigate.
The unidentified victim was found inside his vehicle with a gunshot wound to his chest.
The Cameron County Sheriff’s Office reported the two men, who were believed to be working on the property, began drinking Saturday night and got into an argument.
The suspect then got a .22 long rifle and shot the victim.
He then fled the scene and attempted to hide the rifle, authorities reported.
