HARLINGEN — The 93-room Residence Inn by Marriott Harlingen adjoining Bass Pro Shops is up for sale — or maybe not.
A commercial real estate listing for the property, built in 2014, puts the asking price at $13.5 million.
But the head of the firm which owns the facility, BH Hospitality Management of San Antonio, says that’s not the case.
“As far as I know it’s not for sale but appreciate it,” said Harsh Patel, president/CEO and co-owner of BH Hospitality. “That’s an old listing. No, it’s never been sold. That’s an old, old listing from a couple years ago.”
Despite the disclaimer, the listing on the commercial real estate website LoopNet shows the hotel at 109 Bass Pro Drive went on the market June 10. The listing for the property was updated Thursday, according to the website.
Subash Naik at Hotel Brokers Inc. of Bakersfield, California, is listed as the broker for the property. He referred inquiries to Patel.
The four-story hotel is 94,872 square feet and includes a fitness center, three business centers and sports courts.
The LoopNet website sales listing says the average daily rate for a suite or room goes for $105.91.
The area near the Residence Inn by Marriott Harlingen is about to become more competitive when it comes to hotel accommodations.
BC Lynd Hospitality is currently in the construction phase of its $25 million Hilton Garden Inn, which will be attached to the Harlingen Convention Center. The 150-room, five-story hotel is expected to be completed next summer.
