An early morning groundbreaking event in Harlingen welcomed the mayor, community leaders, board members, supporters, IDEA students, and others in celebrating the start of its newest campus in the Lower Valley, IDEA Harlingen.

The campus will be located at 24240 Chester Park Road, southeast of the Harlingen Sports Complex on the city’s west side.

Tom Torkelson, CEO and Founder of IDEA Public Schools said he is excited to have a new establishment in Harlingen available for more students.

“We have a wait ist of 1000 kids in IDEA San Benito, this new school will help alleviate those numbers and bring more opportunities for families in Harlingen,” Torkelson.
