The City of Harlingen and Food Bank RGV will hold three more food distribution events in the coming weeks.

The food will be given away at the Harlingen Soccer Complex on the following dates:

• May 22 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
• June 10 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
• June 17 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The soccer complex is located at 4515 E.  Harrison. Residents will only need to drive-thru the complex to receive the groceries. They do not have to get off their vehicles.

“With so many people still without a job, city leaders worked tirelessly to secure more distributions in our city. Thankfully, Food Bank RGV agreed to come back as long as the city provides the volunteers to manage the site and distribute the food,” the city said in a news release.

In all more than 1400 families were helped with canned goods and fruits and vegetables during the previous distributions.
