Staff Force is hosting a two-day job fair this Friday and Saturday that will help connect potential employees to job openings in the area.
Staff Force is helping recruit and give information to potential employees about current job openings with multiple employers in Cameron County.
“We understand that a lot of people lost their jobs because of the pandemic and are struggling. Our mission is to help bridge that gap and help folks find employment. We get orders from employers for job openings daily, however we are struggling to find people to fill the jobs. The goal of the Job Fair is to help inform our community of job openings and help them find a match with an employer. With the uncertainty of the pandemic and how that has taken a toll on our economy we understand how vital it is to be employed,” officials stated in a press release.
U.S. News just reported that “The number of people who filed for unemployment benefits rose for the second consecutive week last week as coronavirus cases surged around the country.” They also reported that “The sharp increase in coronavirus cases since mid-June has prompted state leaders to reinstate restrictions and close some nonessential businesses, like bars. The uptick in unemployment claims is the latest sign that the increase in virus cases is damaging the economy.”
The Job Fair will be held virtually on Facebook on Friday and in person at 1424 W. Price Rd. Suite E in Brownsville. There is no cost for this event and prizes will be given away. Pizza and soft drinks will be handed out to those who participate. Please note that Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines will be followed to insure everyone’s safety.
