Twenty-one more Cameron County residents have died from COVID -19 relate causes, the county health department reported Tuesday night.
This raises the total number of coronavirus-related deaths here to 461, Cameron County Public Health said in a statement.
The individuals ranged from a 19-year-old man in Los Fresnos to a 90-year-old woman in Brownsville.
Deaths also were reported in La Feria and Port Isabel.
Also Tuesday, the health department received confirmation of an additional 168 new COVID-19 cases in Cameron County.
The new cases include 10 children ages 9 and under, 24 people ages 10 to 19, 28 people in their 20s, 20 people in their 30s, 35 people in the 40s, 20 people in their 50s, eight people in their 60s, 14 people in their 70s, seven people in their 80s and two people in their 90s.
This raises the total number of coronavirus cases in Cameron County to 18,338.
There have also been an additional 256 individuals who have recovered, raising the total number of recovered individuals to 11,579.
