SAN BENITO — Personnel of this school district are mourning the loss of one of its employees.
Hilda Garcia Rendon, San Benito CISD’s assistant superintendent of finance and operations, passed away Sunday evening.
Rendon had been with the district since May 2016 and served as acting superintendent.
A press release from the school district stated that the San Benito Schools Board of Trustees, district administrators and department and campus personnel extend their most sincere condolences to the Rendon and Garcia families.
“It was with great sadness that we learned of Mrs. Rendon’s passing. Our most sincere thoughts and prayers go out to the Rendon and Garcia families,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Nate Carman stated. “We wish them comfort and strength during their time of loss.”
San Benito CISD Board President Orlando López stated that he remembers Rendon for her team effort and dedication to the school district and its financial well-being.
“I was fortunate to work with Mrs. Rendon these past several years and was able to see, first hand, her dedication to our district and its financial well-being,” López stated. “We wish the Rendon and Garcia families much courage and peace during this difficult time.”
The press release states that Rendon was a dedicated employee who will be missed.
“Her experience in school finance and attention to details were at the forefront of her professional drive to bring the district to sound fiscal solvency,” the press release stated. “Her contribution to the success of San Benito Schools will forever be remembered.”
